Niger’s geographical location makes it a crossroads of trade between North Africa and Africa south of the Sahara. It covers 1,267,000 km². Niger is the largest of the West African countries and ranks 6th on a continental scale (after Sudan, Algeria, Congo, Libya and Chad)
